Message from Mrs. Walters

Blair Oaks has a tradition of excellence. The administration and faculty have high expectations for every student. Blair Oaks teachers strive to provide opportunities for learning that are engaging, motivating, and age-appropriate for our students. We believe that all children can learn.

Positive classroom environments, as well as positive relationships with our students, provide an atmosphere where learning will take place. Every child will have an opportunity to grow not only academically, but also socially. The lessons learned within the building walls will make way to a lifetime of learning. You will find our teachers and staff genuinely care about the success of every child. Every decision made is based on what is best for our students.

We value positive working relationships with parents. Parental involvement and input is very important to us. Meaningful involvement of parents enhances the educational process. The earlier in a child’s educational process that parent involvement begins, the more powerful the effects. Please know I maintain an open door policy. I would encourage you to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns, or want to share your thoughts on what is going well. We are so blessed to have you as part of the Blair Oaks Falcon Family.

A little insight to my personal beliefs:  I believe that we all have a purpose in life.  This is my purpose.  In the twenty years in education, I have never felt more passionately as I do now, to lead the building in which I work to help our students grow.  I'm committed to working along side the staff and parents to ensure our students get nothing but the very best they deserve.

Personal Values

  • I believe all children can learn. It is my job as an educator to analyze their needs and develop a plan to meet those individual, specific needs. I must utilize the mode of learning in which they are able to achieve. If my students fail, then I too fail.
  • I believe I am a resource for my teachers. It is my job as their administrator to facilitate in their professional growth. If I don’t know the answer to their question/concern, it is my job to find it and/or lead them in the right direction in finding it.
  • I believe in a collaborative effort – shared leadership is important in leading my school. I am a part of an important team. My teachers, support staff, students, and parents are vital team members. Each perspective is important for the success of any school. Rapport will be established and fostered with all stakeholders.
  • I believe I set the tone for my school. I lead by positive example. Praise and encouragement will be heard from me on a regular basis. I desire for my teachers/staff, parents, and students to see my heart and know that I am willing to get my hands dirty, doing whatever it takes to ensure student success.
