School Spirit

School Mascot—Falcon

School Colors—Kelly Green and White

Friday Spirit Days—It is a Blair Oaks tradition to wear Green and White on Fridays!  We also hold Friday hat days. Students can donate a dollar and can wear a hat for the day.  Donations are used for student activities or are donated to various charities.

BMS Cheerleaders—Our BMS cheerleaders are a great addition to our ballgames, and they love it when the crowd cheers along with them.  Here are the words to some of our more popular school cheers:

                Falcons Rock the House

                Falcons Rock the House

And when the Falcons Rock the House they’ll BOOM knock you out!

We say Green; you say White

Green (White)

Green (White)

We say Blair Oaks; you say Falcons

Blair Oaks (Falcons)

Blair Oaks (Falcons)

We say number; you say one

Number (One)

Number (One)

Blair Oaks Falcons Number One!

BHS Football Games—We have a BMS cheering section at home games.  We are the far end of the bleachers away from the concession stand.  Come join us and show your spirit!

BMS Volleyball, Wrestling and Basketball—The BMS student cheering section is right inside the gym doors.  We reserve a section for our student fans, but you still need to arrive early to get a seat.  Most of our middle school events are packed!

BMS STUCO—Student Council sets up concession stands at our home events.  Student Council also runs a school store that sells school supplies and spirit items.  We appreciate our customers who help support our student activities through their purchases!

BMS Pep Band—Very few middle schools have a pep band! Our pep band rocks the house.  They play our school fight song and other songs that really get the crowd going!

Winterfest—Each year during wrestling and basketball season we hold our annual Winterfest week.  The entire school participates in spirit days, and we elect seventh and eighth grade royalty.  The week wraps up with an assembly, a ballgame, and a seventh and eighth grade formal dance.

Silent Night Game—In 2012 we held our first Silent Night game, and it looks like it may become an annual tradition.  The rules….fans remain completely silent until the 5th/6thFalcon point goes on the board, and then the crowd goes wild!  At the end of the night, we sing Silent Night as a school family.

MAP Spirit Week—The week before MAP is an exciting one here at BMS.  Not only are we cramming last minute pieces of information into our brains, but we are also pumping our adrenaline for the state tests.  Each year we pick a theme and select spirit days to go along with the theme.  We are “in it to win it”!
